Guest posting allowed

As an attempt to get more of the many visitors to post their opinions and ideas, we're allowing guest posting. When the forum first opened we ran into a couple of problem users and had to limit the forum to registered users only, but we're hoping we now can allow anonymous posting without getting a large amount of pointless attacks on the city nor spam.

If people can't seem to handle it, we will revert back to allowing only registered users to post, but hopefully this won't be the situation. For people that believe they have freedom of speech wherever they go, remember this is a private site. (We have no problem with negative comments as long as they are constructive and at least appear to serve a purpose other than simply upsetting regular users.)

For those that just come to post mindless dribble...we'll there are plenty of other places to so. Please do that there. ;)

I have a question.  I am trying to sent posts under my user name but it continues to say ''Sorry, but this username has already been taken.''  So I've been posting under guest.  If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks,

Thanks for all your help.  After a few tries, I was able to create a new password.  But now when I try to post under my username, it has the same caption, ''Sorry, but this username has already been taken.''

have you tried logging in first. go to log in and enter your information ( I know its self explanatory but i didn't have a problem logging in when i redid your account.

I figured it out. You cannot use a name under guest.  You would have to sign in first and then post. I don't think you should have a problem if you go to log in at the top of the page by home and sign in and then post.

When I tried to post under guest and tried to use my sign up name it told me it was taken. Thats because when posting under guest using the name you registered with it will say it's taken because you are not signed in. You can use a regular name but not your user name.

If you go to http://www.urbanflint.com/forum/login.php you should be able to log in and you can start posting from there. Your name will on your posts automatically.

Guest posting has been disabled for the time being. Visitors still have a right to view everything they've viewed before, but our forum software isn't up to expectations and doesn't even allow simple things such as a visitor using the same name twice, so we've decided to let posts be made by registered users only.

If any non-registered visitors have a problem with this, please contact us and we may review our decision.
